Better Bed Sheets and a Giveaway

10/3/2011

I was approached by Select Comfort, the people who created the sleep number bed, and was asked if I would evaluate their new sheets and in exchange they would give one of my readers a free set of sheets.  How can I say no to that?  So this is my first giveaway.  It is also a product review of something other than a CPAP mask.

I had to admit that I am all about comfort, especially when it comes to my bed.  I want soft sheets and a cool bed.  I want colors that help me to relax.  I also have to make sure that the bed is allergy free due to the men in my life have severe skin and nasal allergies.

The sheets I received were ice blue in color and when I reviewed the information they said they were woven with silver which helps to control allergens.  I also went to my local store to find out more about the sheets.  This is part of a whole line designed to help people to sleep comfortably based on their needs.  They have a very inventive line of products.  My favorite product I saw there was the blanket that kept cool.  This is ideal for those of us who get hot at night.

I washed them several times and they stood up to the laundry very well.  They remained soft and kept their shape well.

So now for your chance to have a new pair of these allergen resistant sheet,  in the comment section of this blog ask your sleep question or tell us one thing you do as part of your sleep routine.

The idea of allergen free sheets is wonderful. I am very particular about the feel of sheets and find it quite interesting that silver is used to create that effect. My preparation for sleep is to lower the lights an hour or so before bed, to mentally begin preparing for sleep, and read while listening to a relaxation CD as I shut off the lights. Thanks for sharing.

I sleep on a natural latex mattress with no VOCs, with merino wool padding and unbleached, organic washed cotton mattress cover. NOW I need allergen resistant sheets to go over it all and I'll be set!
My favorite part of a healthy bedtime routine includes relaxing yoga and counting of blessings.
Thanks, Amy for the chance at the new linens!

Like you Amy, my bed/room are very important to me. I like very soft sheets, and splurge on my bedding. I also have a lot of allergies and use allergan covers for my pillows and mattress.
I have a beautiful dragonfly lamp that I illuminate an hour or so before bedtime. Sometimes I'll light a candle. At that time, I also turn down my sheets, turn on my ceiling fan and spritz a soft aromatherapy like ylang ylang or bergamot.

This is a fun idea! I would REALLY like to know more about the cooling blanket! This would be a GREAT boon to my dear friends dealing with MS. I have seen cooling vests, etc. but are cost prohibitive devices. Do you think a Dr could prescribe something like that for those of us with overheating issues???
Thanks for a GREAT Website! Have followed your blog for a long time!

Love the idea of sheets that keep you cool! I hAVE to stretch at night before bedtime or I'm up at 3am with restless legs.

With wide spread arthritis and fibromyalgia, my bed is my nighttime santuary. Soft sheets are a 'must have' and a luxury that has become a necessity.

The polyurethane foam bed mattress is not almost all polyurethane foam. That may very well be 5-6” of normal polyurethane foam lead with a visco-elastic level, the start celled, slow-moving healing, poly memory foam. The two types of memory foam within these types of bedrooms will certainly off-gas. The particular odour returning off these types of foams is usually coming from substances used at the same time of getting that. The particular substances emitted are generally perhaps bad for small children and the ones sensitive to help such emissions should decide on a diverse type of bed mattress.
